Biography

A life dedicated to public service and workers’ empowerment.

Hon. Justina Jonas is a distinguished Member of Parliament in the Republic of Namibia, known for her unwavering commitment to workers’ rights, poverty eradication, and national development. Her journey into public life began through the trade union movement, where she developed a deep understanding of the challenges facing working Namibians.

As Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Poverty Eradication, Labour and Industrial Relations, she has led oversight missions across the country, investigating working conditions, reviewing labour policies, and advocating for legislative reforms that protect the most vulnerable members of society.

Throughout her career, Hon. Jonas has been a powerful voice in the National Assembly, delivering speeches on critical issues ranging from labour reform to rural development, housing, and social welfare. Her work reflects a deep commitment to participatory democracy and the belief that every Namibian deserves dignity, opportunity, and a voice in their governance.
